PTFE surface treated with sodium naphthalene
PTFE surface itself is not adhesive, such as want to stick with other substances, must need to be single-sided or double-sided after sodium naphthalene
chemical treatment, and rubber, metal, and other substances bonded, in special use, make up for TEflON products non-adhesive performance.
Because of the PTFE molecule, carbon carbon bond is tightly surrounded by fluorine atoms in the outer layer, so it has high stability and non-viscosity, the use
of general pressure sensitive adhesive can not do large area, high strength bonding of tetrafluoroethylene products. The surface of the tetrafluoron is treated
with sodium naphthalene to increase its polarity and surface tension, resulting in an activated tetrafluoron surface that binds to metals, nonmetals, and other
plastics.
The filled PTFE plastic has good wear resistance and cold flow resistance, but the surface tension of the material is low, and it is difficult to be used directly, so
the surface pretreatment must be carried out. Among the many treatment methods, the PTFE treated with sodium naphthalene has outstanding advantages:
1. High bonding strength
(1) Shear strength steel - Teflon film (or Teflon filled sheet) - steel: >9.8MP
(2) Peel strength filled Teflon sheet (JG-20) - cast iron plate: 29N/cm
(3) Fill Teflon sheet (surface polished, filled with graphite, MoS2 copper powder) - Cast iron plate: 29N/cm
2, the treatment agent only corrodes the surface of fluorine plastic (depth of several hearts), does not affect the mechanical properties of the internal material.
3. The storage time of sodium naphthalene treated polytetrafluoroethylene produced by our company is long. When stored in the dark, the bonding strength
does not decrease within three years. Such as: steel - teflon (storage period of three) - steel shear strength: > 9.8mpa.
Application:
High temperature adhesive tape, PTFE copper coated plate, mouse friction pad, bridge expansion slider, stadium moving roof slider, etc.
